In an age obsessed with youth and superficial beauty, In Praise of Older Men celebrates the character of the older face with its signs of a life well lived.
In this series I have combined the oldest of photographic processes – salt printing, developed in the 1830s by William Henry Fox Talbot – with modern digital technology. The photographs are taken with the Hipstamatic app on the iPhone, a digital negative then made and the image printed out on hand-coated paper in the sun. Each print is unique and hand-crafted.
